What's the best thing to do for dry itchy winter skin?

Every winter about this time my skin gets extremely itchy and dry. It's so annoying. I use lotion after every time I get out of the shower but it's just not getting the job done. What's the best thing I can do to eliminate this problem? What's the best thing to do for dry itchy winter skin?
Stay hydrated, use aveeno oatmeal products, rainbath, dry oil sprays and change to moisterizing soap. Add through out the day as needed.

Shower less frequently, every other day or so.What's the best thing to do for dry itchy winter skin?
Keep your skin hydrated! Drink lots of water and use a quality lotion. I have used Eucerin but it is so thick and feels oily.

I use this Mary Kay庐 Hydrating Lotion and it has done wonders for my skin: http://budurl.com/r6zc

Mary Kay庐 Hydrating Lotion is a treat for skin that鈥檚 been exposed to wind, dry air and extreme weather. The lotion hydrates for up to 10 hours, leaving skin feeling soft and smooth.

You have to constantly be hydrating your skin with a moisturizer. Try finding a really thick ';body butter'; so you don't have to re apply it so often. Once your skin isn't so dried out you shouldn't have to use so much cream.
Moisturise...Thats It moisturise all the time constantly!! Take a mini moisturiser with you wherever you go and just moisturise :)
I agree with Jandy, except the part about not showering every day. Please.

Don't use soap. Use a moisturizing cleanser like Aveeno makes.
get Eucerin cream it works for me
