I have a 12 year old son, he gets extremely dry skin in the winter season, after his bath and he dries off, I use a good moisturizing lotion on him. But as soon as it touches his skin, he jumps up and starts shivering and says its so cold.
I don't have a lotion warmer, is there anything else I could do to make it warmer so his skin can tolerate it?
ThanksHow to warm up lotion so its not cold on the skin?
You could sit the bottle in a bowl of hot water while he's taking a shower. Then it would be warm by the time he got out of the shower. How to warm up lotion so its not cold on the skin?
Rub the lotion in your hands for a couple of seconds before applying to the skin.
First of all why are you giving a 12 year old a bath? He should be alone in the bath and do his lotion hiself except for his back maybe.
He can float it in the bath tub while he is taking his bath. When he is done the lotion will be warm! Maybe he just is self concious of his mother babying him. He's starting to get pubic hair now!
Just rub it between your hands to warm it up.
I know there are shaving cream heaters on the market, so maybe you'd be able to find something similar (or the same product) for lotion.
You could also put the lotion bottle in the bathtub with him, the hot water will warm up the lotion to the same temp as he is when he gets out.
you COULD microwave a small amount of lotion but be sure it's only a few seconds, stirr it, and test in on your wrist.
(i don't know how this'd work though....be very cautious about this idea!!!)
whole jumpin', not much imagination eh? place the bottle in warm, not hot, water, to warm up the lotion.
thanks for comin' out
Just rub it between your palms to warm it a bit. Make sure your hands are warm.
Soak the bottle in the sink with warm or hot water. That's what I do when I get my bf to rub my back and feet. Oh it feels nice on the feet.
Wait did you say 12 years old.... I thought he was 12 months... WOW... Maby he ought to do that himself.
Put it in your hands and rub them toghether for about 30 seconds quickly and let the friction do it.
Do this anytime your putting lotion on someone else, or oil for massages.
Massage people always do it.
Maybe you can put the lotion bottle in hot water for a minute before using it.
run the bottle under hot water for a few mins and then dry the bottle off and the lotion should be warm
You could try a couple of things - stand the bottle of lotion in a jug of warm water while he has his bath - it warms it up like it would a baby bottle.
Or you could put the lotion into your hands and rub them together, warming the lotion that way.
Another way is to use a moisturising oil in his bath water - so that while he is in the bath, the oil settles on his skin and you then just pat him dry.
