Can spermicide condoms irriatete your skin causing stinging sensation when you pee?

After my boyfriend and i had sex today i went home and i went pee. When i did it stung very badly, i wanted to know if this was normal. We tried a new condom with spermicide on it and i was not sure if that is what caused it. I know it is not an STD because we have never had sex with anyone else. Can spermicide condoms irriatete your skin causing stinging sensation when you pee?
It could very well be the nonoxynol-9 (the only spermicide used on some condoms).

YOU SHOULD NEVER USE N-9 condoms unless that is all you have and are not willing to wait.

N-9 can cause inflammation in the mucosal linings (vaginal wall, cervix, urethra/pee hole) and actually make it easier for you to become HIV/STI infected. All lubricant manufacturers have voluntarily stopped producing N-9 lube in bottle form.

Most condom manufacturerers (except for one, obviously the one you used) have also voluntarily stopped producing those condoms.

The World Health Organization has spoken out about N-9 and the increased risk for HIV infection.

In related studies, it has been shown that there is no statistical difference in pregnancy protection with an N-9 lubed condom and a regular water-based lubed condom. So, there is no reason why these condoms should be in production.

And, while mild use may be OK for some women, it is never OK for anyone (female or male) if they are engaging in anal sex.....N-9 and the anus DO NOT MIX.

N-9 can be used by some women (depending on their individual risks). N-9 is still used in some sponges (and other contraceptives) and should only be used in certain circumstances......talk to your doc about this

My anti-N-9 rant aside,

It could also simply be a urinary tract infection. If the pain/burning feeling persists for more than a day, go and see a doctor. In the meantime you can try drinking Cranberry juice.

Hope this helpsCan spermicide condoms irriatete your skin causing stinging sensation when you pee?
you could have a contact dermatitis to an ingredient in the spermicide. you need to switch brands so this won't happen again. read the labels %26amp; see if there is one w/o fragrance or perhaps has fewer ingredients on the label. very proud of you for using a condom. quite responsible!!
Could be the spermicide. However, if you don't practice good sex ';hygeine'; you could be on your way to getting a bladder infection. During sex, fluids (lubricants, spermicide whatever) can get up into your urethera. If there is any bacteria that goes with it, you could develop a bladder infection. The best way to avoid this is to

1. Drink plenty of fluids

2. Pee before sex

3. Pee after sex

If you do develop a bladder infection take the uristat pills, you will thank me later. Then go to whole foods, or some other health food place and buy cranberry pills. Take 4 of those every 4 hours for 3 days. Then slowly cut back.

This will usually cure a bladder infection for me. If it doesn't go to the doctor.

Probably more info then you needed, but I hope it helps.
it is very possable that you are allergic or sensative to the spermacide. if it was nonoxyl-9, many women are extremely sensitive to this. another thing, was the sex ';rougher'; than ussual? if so there could have been microinjuries that could sting when you urinate.

if it continues to sting when you urinate, it could also be a urinary tract infection--which should be examined and cultured by a doctor.
s.m.and kael have it right!! I agree with them..
