What region of Africa or what people of Africa have the darkest skin?

is there such thing as true ';black'; skin? I think I've seen pictuers of very dark africans, but ive never been sure that people can actualyl be ';black'; as we know it as the absence of light, is this possible? What region of Africa or what people of Africa have the darkest skin?
ok to answer you question. I think the darkest africans will have to be Sudanis. West africans get dark and i've seen dark east and southern africans but I think sudanis are the darkest ones. BUt i really like their skin, most ppl dont find it attractive but their complection is so unique and exotic. THey are usually extremely tall, slender, and really really dark with soft facial features and hard hair. Very interesting group of people and I think are among some of the most beautiful. I dont care much about regular dark skin but the reall really really dark skin that dinkas in sourthern sudan have is really unique. It makes you look twiceWhat region of Africa or what people of Africa have the darkest skin?
According to Jared Diamond, an author of the book ';Guns Germs and steel'; there are 3 major groups of peoples in africa (If you leave out the Asian originated Madagascar population and European settlers ). The Lightest skin is in the north above the sahara. Darker from that are the peoples who belong to the bantu-group. The most distinguishing features belong to the third and the smallest (propably the oldest group) that the Bushmen (ever seen the movie ';The Gods Must be Crazy';?) and Pygmy belong to.

The Black skin is a way of protecting the skin from cellular damage caused by UV radiation. This is why people who traditionally live in very sunny areas have darker skin and why I got sunburned so many times when I lived in Africa. :)
there is no such thing as ';black'; its just darker shades of brown.

but i guess when you turn the lights out you can call it black.
to be exactly, it is the Kenyans.......
No, but why does it matter?
Maybe Sudan.
Kenyans, Ugandans, Rwandans, Congolese, Somalies, as these are all equatorial nations.
