How does the sun cause skin cancer?

I know that the sun causes skin cancer, but exactly how does it do it? What is the process of the sun causing the cancer to form or develop? I was just curious. Thanks! How does the sun cause skin cancer?
The only fatal type of skin cancer is malignant melanoma. It almost always develops on unexposed areas of the body and occurs most often in people who have had very little exposure to the sun and its protective Vitamin D. The sun can cause carcinoma but that can usually be safely removed. The conclusion is that there are far more benefits to moderate sun exposure than risks. How does the sun cause skin cancer?
The high-frequency UV radiation from the Sun can cause a mutation in the DNA of one or more skin cells, which makes them become malignant and undergo mitosis (cellular division) much more rapidly than regular cells around it.
UV rays, they have high energy hence they cause DNA mutations and therefore Cancer
