Why can't we do away with the terms white and black? What about the rest of us whose skin is tanned?

We do NOT want to be called Asians. It's just stupid. We can't be white. We can't be black. If you TRULY respect us, then stop calling yourselves white or black. Let us all call ourselves humans so all of us can feel a sense of belonging. What do you say?Why can't we do away with the terms white and black? What about the rest of us whose skin is tanned?
I agree somewhat.

I think racial terms should be done away with and we should use our ethnicities instead, for example I'm IrishCeltic, my friend is IrishIgbo, Obama is Anglo-LuoAmericanWhy can't we do away with the terms white and black? What about the rest of us whose skin is tanned?
Hmmm i just answered your other question. But i do understand your way of thinking. I've never quite understood the words we use to describe ones culture, background or race.

I personally don't like the words ';white'; and ';black'; because it's really not that simple- There's a lot of grey area and those terms only cover a select few- The world is not all ';white'; and ';black';....Plus that says nothing for the persons background or race. White isn't a race....as black isn't either.

And what ';white or ';black'; people do you know that really have white or black skin. HAHA i've always found that term soo silly.

Asian, on the other hand is a little more politically correct. I understand that. Someone being of Asian descent. I know that covers a TON of countries and an array of skin tones but it's basically describing your descent. Why get specific over skin color? Who cares? There's many people of European descent who have ';tan'; skin but yet are still considered caucasian, but we'd still refer to them as ';white';.

Or asians with LIGHT LIGHT skin- Do we call them ';white'; as well? Like i said I could go on forever about this as it's always bothered me. I understand having pride in your cultural heritage, but it's silly to try to try to seperate everyone by ';colors';....I wouldn't too caught up in it....We're all people...Every race, country, culture has it's people with lighter skin and darker skin---
I agree.

I always taught my child to point someone out by the clothes he/she was wearing as opposed to skin color. If they're wearing a hat, glasses etc.

The kids game Guess Who is great for teaching strategies like that.
Exactly!

You can call me butter pecan
yeah but what happens when you need to identify someone? lmao i can see it now: ';well officer he was human'; why don't you have pride in your Asian heritage? OO
This is the first time I agree with u, jeremy.
