What can I use on my dog for her dry flaky skin?

She is a puppy and I would prefer something that is a natural product or oil. What can I use on my dog for her dry flaky skin?
Add some fish oil to her food. It is totally safe and healthy and does wonders for their skin and coat. What can I use on my dog for her dry flaky skin?
From a Vet you can get something like NutriVed for skin and coat (supplement) plus Skin Formulation 3V Caps (contain Omega 3, Vit A, D and E.

Otherwise, you can adda bit of cod liver oil to the food and ask a Vet how much Vitamin E to add. (according to your dog's weight, age)

You could also sprinkle a bit of acidophilus and a bit of brewer's yeast on her food. Don't want to get you over-doing anything her, so check these suggestions with your Vet and which to apply.

Make sure she is on a good diet as allergens in diet are common causes of skin problems. Use something that hasn't been recalled recently and try an atypical meat source like Venison, duck, rabbit

Use blends that don't contain wheat and corn or soy

Some good brands of food that weren't recalled:

Canidae, Wellness, Nature's Recipe, Newman's Own, Flint River Ranch, The Honest Kitchen. (Broad spectrum of pricing here)

Don't over-bathe her, that alone could cause dry flaky skin as can using some shampoos made for humans. Best would be using a puppy shampoo for dry flaky skin. You can find specialty shampoos like this in large pet stores or get a prescription brand from your Vet. The latter would be a lot more expensive and not necessarily more effective.

Make sure your dog has plenty of fresh water always available and exercises a lot so she will be drinking enough water. (Talking about walks and yard, house play here, because walking or running with a large breed pup for too long can cause stress that can be damaging to their bones and joints)
Look for a dog shampoo that is oatmeal based. yyou can add to the benenfits also by bathing her in that, rinsing the dog shampoo off than setting up a bath with water and Avon Skin So Soft bath oil. The Avon SSS bath oil helps dry skin, and is a good flea repellant too. No need to rinse dog off after SSS bath oil.

I've used this combo on my three dogs for three years after receiving this helpful info from a friend who's had dogs for over 20 years.
My Vet recommended Evening Primrose Oil, just 1 tspoon per day , when one of my puppies had dandruff. It cleared up very quickly.

A good shampoo to use is Johnson's Cradle Cap Shampoo, the one they use for babies.
hey carrot oil from a pet store give a tablespoon a day and dogs love it its about 15 dollors but so worth it his coat is so smooth and shiny now
A puppy shouldn't have dry skin.. Don't bath her all the time, feed her quality dog food and make sure she has plenty of good clean water to drink.. You can give her Omega 3 capsules each day as well.
It could be her body reaction to the kind of dogfood you are feeding her. Our puppies have the same issues, too. We tried changing their dogfood once and they started developing flakes. We went back into feeding them the puppy food that they are used to and the flakes slowly disappears. =)
I give my dog teaspoon full of flaxseed oil everyday and now her skin is heathier than ever..
You can get a shampoo with tea-tree oil in it. its $ but works great
