How do they remove skin cancer?

I heard they can surgically remove it or sometimes use lasers. When do they use either of these? How do they remove skin cancer?
The method they use depends on factors like, how deep the skin cancer is, and the size of the area affected. There are no standard procedure to use, it is evaluated case by case. How do they remove skin cancer?
My father in law had skin cancer for thirteen years and refused to go to a doc, when we finally persuaded him they chopped it out with a scalpel (about the size of a 50p) and he's fine. Skin cancer is 90% heal-able so it's nothing to worry about.
I had one removed a month ago. They numb it (which burns just a little), then they cut it out with a scapel(which you cant feel at all!) If it's done correctly then they cut 3mm around the entire thing, to ensure that all of the cancer is removed. They put stitches in it that were removed 2 weeks later.

I have also heard of ';things'; being burned off the skin, but it obviously cant be tested for cancer if it's burned off.
I'm a nurse and an Australian too..if a Dr said he was gonna laser my skin cancer I would say uh uh no way you CUT it out and get in deep to make sure you have it ALL.

:)

sorry not much help to your Q.

Hope you haven't got skin ca!
