If so what is it?
If you ever look at a cats ear up close you'll see what I mean.Does the little flap of skin on the bottom/back of a cats ear have any purpose?
*Pondering* The folds of the outer ear--the pinna--seem gratuitous, a waste of cartilage and skin. But they are, some Dutch researchers have found, crucial to our ability to pinpoint the vertical location of sounds--whether they come from above us, below, in front, or behind.
When a sound wave enters the outer ear, it bounces around the pinna's ridges. Some frequencies are enhanced, others diminished, with the pattern of those changes determined by the particular shape of the pinna. Since everyone's pinnae are different, so is the acoustic stamp placed on sound entering the brain.
One would have to believe it is the same for felines...Does the little flap of skin on the bottom/back of a cats ear have any purpose?
Wow you must be the biggest idiot it if you cant read details and see that the question i asked was a joke Report Abuse
I know exactly what your talking about....don't think it has any purpose but can't be sure.
GREAT QUESTION!
Unfortunately, I have no clue. I'm putting this on my watch list, though, because I am really interested if anyone knows...
Yes, it does have a purpose. It enhances their hearing. It helps to magnify sound waves toward the eardrum.
I asked that Q to my dad and he says that it is used for balece.

How can I brighten my skin, or at least fake it looking bright and radiant?
I really want my skin to look dewy and fresh, but it never does, I look after it well and it's clear but it isn't very pinky/radiant - what make up tricks are there to getting the fresh faced look?
Thanks
xxxHow can I brighten my skin, or at least fake it looking bright and radiant?
Ok here's a few tips and you can pick and choose the ones you like.
1. Drink water with every meal instead of juice/pop.
2. Aim to eat 5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day
3. Follow a cleansing and toning routine (I like Lush Cosmetics)
4. Buy a moisturiser that does not clog pores
5. Try benefits High Beam or Moon beam on your cheek bones (or Next do a set of two similar products for 拢5 a pair).
6. Use a peach or pink blusher.
7. Try a naturally oily cleanser for once a week moisture and vitamins (I like Lush's Babyface cleanser).
8. Wear dark brown mascara and eyeliner instead of harsh black to look more naturally radiant. How can I brighten my skin, or at least fake it looking bright and radiant?
Drink a glass of warm water with juice of half a lemon and a tsp of honey first thing in the morning. Take plenty of water, fresh fruits and vegetables to keep your bowels clear. Exercise or walk half and hour regularly in the fresh air. Automatically your skin will glow without any makeup. Stop worrying un-necessarily and think positive, it shows on your face. Smile a lot without crinkling your eyes..avoids lines around eyes!!
For the short term, use a good well matched foundation and avoid any face powder which makes the clear face look blothchy.
In the mean time that you do as the other respondents said (exercising, drinking lots of water, and thinking positively) try using Artistry庐 Time Defiance庐 Illuminating Essence. Its gotten great reviews from different websites and you get results in as little as 2 weeks!

How can I get flawless skin?
I need tips for virtually flawless skin. My skin type is oily, and I have large pores. What are some foods I could eat or some products I could use, any tips would be helpful, thanks. How can I get flawless skin?
http://skinfacts.blogspot.com/How can I get flawless skin?
If you want flawless skin, don't use too much make-up or don't use make-up at all. Make-up adds chemicals and can clog your pores. Using a cleanser or a natural soap to wash your face wouldn't be a bad idea either. Don't eat too much sweets and try not to put too many products on your face. Don't pop any pimples either. Hopefully ur on your way to having porcelain skin :-P
U couold use the Neutrogena Wave. IT helps clean your pores and make them smaller except as I've finally discovered you have to put moisturizer afterward because it makes it a little dry.The Wave also makes your skin produce less oily . Also drinking water would be good too.
Drink 8 glasses of water every day. Try J%26amp;J's Purpose Face Wash and use an oil free moisturizer like Purpose or Neutrogena.
There is a supplement called Imedeen, pricey but very effective.
A good face wash to use is Garnier Nutritioniste. It will dry your oily skin a little bit. Get the scrub and the face wash and alternater
Clean your face day and night. Proactive works. Or just a nice daily cleanser. and YES drink lots of water! it really helps! Almonds also help!!
Try papaya kojic and licorice base soap and cream which are
available online. These work wonders.
Maybe it will work on you too.
Try searching it through Google 'shopaholic's bargains'
Drink lots of water, wear sunscreen, take a multivitamin
vitamens
no one have a flawless skin but i suggest that dont wear makeups
Stay out of the sun!! ALWAYS wear spf.
Drink lots of watermake up

How can i get my skin pale?
Yes, pale.
I already have a pale face, but my arms are tanned from the sun and such.
How can i get them pale? How can i get my skin pale?
Don't use lemon juice - or any other kind of citric juice. This is sometimes recommended for lightening hair, but as far as skin goes, it is just going to dry you out. Your skin will feel uncomfortably tight and possibly start to crack if you over do it.
Whitening skin creams and sun screens are available - I would suggesting seeking advice at a pharmacy as to which of these products would suit you best. Don't bother with the home remedy stuff, it's a waste of time!
P.s. Yes, and obviously, don't just try and lighten your skin. Make sure you are preventing it from getting darker. Sun screen, long sleeves, keeping out of the sun.
Unfortunately I have the same problem as you - great pale skin but in comparison, my arms look kinda tanned. And it's from driving!!! I've started keeping sunscreen in my car.How can i get my skin pale?
paint them
not sure, call michael jackson
-Put on sun screen, and stay out of the sun.
-Use a lightening soap or lotion.
-Apply lemon juice or milk on your skin 3 or more times a day. You skin will be lighter in a couple of weeks.
However, your skin will probably turn back to it's original color in a couple of weeks, so you don't really have to do anything.
-Wear protective clothing, such as long sleeves, pants, hats, and shoes that cover your feet.
-Exfoliate your skin everyday.
-You could also use skin bleach, but it's not healthy.
Why dont you just tan your face... it makes that much more sense?
Stay inside and wear long sleeves and pants.
lemon is too acidic for the skin..
try dermaline skin whitening cream or lotion..
its safe and potent formula can get rid of dark skin spots or unwanted tan.
you can come skin me and make a flesh coat...
Don't go out in the sun.
Lemon juice will make your skin pale.
Lime juice
Never leave your house, ever again.

Can you give a german shepherd baths weekly without drying out their skin ?
My shepherd is allowed to go in or out of the house as she pleases. She can get a little dirty at times. I have read online and in books that you should only bathe your gsd 4 times a year. How can I bathe her without any side effects? Can you give a german shepherd baths weekly without drying out their skin ?
Dog soaps and shampoos weren't always as mild and gentle as they are now, so people were cautioned to bathe their dogs infrequently. You can bathe just about any dog once a week but not more often than that unless instructed to do so by your vet. Your main worries will be to keep shampoo out of the dog's eyes, ears, nose and mouth, and to rinse thoroughly, again avoiding the eyes, ears, nose and mouth. Bathing will speed up the shedding process which can help because it means your dog will finish its seasonal shedding much faster. It is also a nuisance to have so much more hair than usual everywhere. Be sure to brush your dog well before the bath and again after he is dry. Daily brushing can keep a lot of hair off the floor. An important note: dog hair can clog up your plumbing so try to figure out a way to wash your dog outdoors or have a groomer do it. If there is a self service groom shop in your area, they are great, too (and very reasonably priced). Can you give a german shepherd baths weekly without drying out their skin ?
If you bathe her more often than every 2 weeks you risk drying her skin out too much because you'll be washing away essential oils from her skin and coat. When you do bathe her use a gentle shampoo like aloe and oatmeal and if it's some dirt from her playing, just rinse her with water. You can also use unscented baby wipes to wipe her feet and coat.
I think 4 times a year is a little bit extreme.
Although once a week will def.
wash out her natural oils and cause dry flaky skin.
witch will be very irritating at itchy.
I have 3 small dogs and i bath them once every 2 weeks..
and there skin and fur is perfectly healthy and fine.
no side effects what so ever.
so i advise instead of weekly make it on a 2 week basis.
Good Luck.

No, That is way to much bathing for a dog.
We have a Chow/Husky that is 3 years old. he has yet to need a bath.
I brush him daily, he sleeps and lives indoors with us, and is not allowed out of the yard on his own. He does not smell, his hair is gorgeous and the only maintence that he needs outside of brushing is to have his nails cut and ears/teeth cleaned which we do ever 3-5 months.
Dogs don't need bathing unless they roll in something, or get into Mud or dirt, etc. They keep themselves cleaned by grooming and they are very clean animals unless they are sick and can't care for themselves.
I think you can bathe her bi-weekly and possibly just rinse of paws as needed. Do use a gentle dog shampoo and mild temperature water. If she gets too dry, then do once a month. In a pinch a wet wash cloth can get wipe dirty spots on face and under belly.
If she is not completely messed up, they sell pet wipes that act just like baby wipes. You just wipe up the affected area and your good to go.
Otherwise look for a very gentle puppy shampoo.
I'd say any more than one every 2 weeks is bad...
Maybe buy some wipes and brush her, hey thats what happens with long haired dog haha.
If you feel you must bathe her often look for a good dog shampoo to help with the skin.

What does it mean when you have high blood pressure and red skin?
my mom has high blood pressure and her hands, face, and arms are constantly red...is that bad? What does it mean when you have high blood pressure and red skin?
Sounds to me like you lack much pigment (melanocytes) in your skin. When you get cold, your blood vessels constrict to stay warm, and your skin turns blue/purple. When you move around or get warm, your vessels dilate and the blood vessels become more visible, turning you red.
In the meantime, use a strong lotion or cream like ammonium lactate to help counteract the effects. Ammonium lactate helps moisturize and actually thickens the skin, so that will help. You won't feel your skin getting thicker, it's on a microscopic level, but it will help. Available at any drugstore.... Lac-Hydrin, Amlactin, etc. Cost you twenty bucks.
Oh yeah, one more thing... Make sure you get enough iron in your diet.... If you have blue skin, it is also indicative of poor blood oxygen levels....What does it mean when you have high blood pressure and red skin?
This could be caused by some food additive.
You know, an allergy.
Get her off fast food and salt.
Don't let her have ANY diet sodas, they are
sweetened with aspartame, an industrial
poison.
People in this country are being poisoned to
death by the thousands with chemicals
food and drug corporations put in their
products.
Feed her fruits and lots of distilled, (pure)
water for a week and see if her color
gets better.
High blood pressure is known as the silent killer. Your mom needs a healthy diet... no more salty snacks, bad fats and high sugars. I know, it's worse than death... but that's the alternative.

What is a best sunblock lotions out there for guys or all skin color?
I need to know of the best sunblock lotions that smell good and not oily and from where should I get it. thank you. What is a best sunblock lotions out there for guys or all skin color?
Hawaiian tropics smells really good.
i wear it to work, and it doesnt smell like im walking in from the beach.
it's not too oily.
3 ingredients that you should look for: Avobenzone (Parsol 1789), zinc oxide, and titanium dioxide.
those ingredients prevent sunscreen from being oily. you can get these at most drug stores or large grocery stores/pharmacies.
good luck!
